Mick Sterling

Blues fans of the Twin Cities are already familiar with Mick Sterling. He led the popular 10-piece, horn driven, R&B influenced Stud Brothers for a better part of 17 years to adoring audiences. Can he cut it on his own? As it turns out, yes, provided Sterling neophytes don't mind their blues tinted with rock and soul. Sterling was smart enough to enlist producer/songwriter Kevin Bowe, best known for his work with Jonny Lang and Tommy Castro, and the result is a dozen tunes that sound like Delbert McClinton in party mode or Bruce Springsteen if he'd been raised in Memphis instead of Jersey. - Blues Revue Magazine revie

Charmin MichelleCharmin001sm
"Autumn in the land of Minnesota lakes and Charmin Michelle, via her third CD, pours out her heart and her soul. If, in this bizarre time, these performances by Charmin and her messengers, The Twin Cities Seven, don't offer comfort and healing, then all is lost."

--An excerpt from the liner notes to HOT, by Leigh Kamman,
host of "The Jazz Image" on Minnesota Public Radio

Alison Scott  AllisonScott

Growing up in Minneapolis, Alison Scott developed an ear for good lyrics and some sophisticated chops on the piano. Both come together on "Wish On The Moon.

Scott's parents had a record collection heavy with '70s music and that comes through in her writing, vocal phrasing and the feel of the material. Scott comes in somewhere between veterans like Carol King and Chi Coltrane and contemporaries like Jamie Cullum and Alisha Keys. She possesses a Beatlesque sense of clean pop melody, a Patti LaBelle sense of soulfulness and maybe just a bit of Laura Nyro's quiet confidence

Locklin Road  LocklinRoad

Locklinroad.com

Locklin Road is a Celtic folk trio specializing in musical storytelling, from traditional Irish ballads and singalong pub songs to Sheri's original work. The band's three-part harmonies, featuring Sheri's lead vocals, are accompanied by Dan and Gregg's expert playing. When it fits the occasion, we may also mix in a few non-Celtic contemporary songs from related genres like American folk and bluegrass
